10-Day Balinese Yoga & Healing Retreat in Village Bali

10-Day Balinese Yoga & Healing Retreat in Village Bali

Indonesia · 10 days · From EUR 540

Most days begin around 7am with a yoga session, usually followed by meditation or pranayama before breakfast. The style leans restorative and Hatha-based rather than fast vinyasa — long holds, attention to breath, and plenty of props if you want them. After breakfast the schedule opens up. Some days include a cultural activity: a temple visit, a walk through the rice terraces with a local guide, or time with a Balinese healer as part of the healing excursion. On other days you're free until the late-afternoon session.

The healing excursion is the part people remember. It's a half-day trip to a local practitioner — the kind of thing you'd never find on your own without a local introduction. Depending on the week it might involve a traditional Balinese blessing, a discussion about herbal medicine, or a water purification ritual at a temple spring. It's not a spa treatment. It's a look at how wellness is actually practised in Bali.

Afternoon sessions run around 4:30 or 5pm and are usually gentler — yin, restorative, or guided meditation. Dinner follows, and evenings are yours. Some nights there's a cultural performance or a group meal in the village; on others you'll just read on your terrace.

The pace is the difference here. A lot of ten-day yoga retreats in Bali pack in two classes a day plus workshops and excursions, and you leave needing a holiday from the holiday. This one builds in real free time — full afternoons where nothing is scheduled. That's deliberate. It gives you space to actually rest, which is the thing most people book a retreat for and rarely get.

Balitrees Retreats runs this programme and several other retreats from the same base in Jalan Balitrees, so the staff, kitchen and teaching team are experienced with the format. The property sits in a village area surrounded by greenery; you'll hear temple bells and roosters rather than traffic. Rooms range from standard to superior, shared or private, and all four room options are priced per person.

Group size stays manageable, which means the teacher can actually watch what you're doing and adjust. You'll get hands-on corrections in the yoga sessions and individual attention in the meditation instruction — not a room of thirty people following a video screen.
