Costa Rica · 10 days · From USD 1404
The retreat combines six surf lessons with nine yoga classes, held at various studios in Santa Teresa to introduce you to different styles and instructors. Mornings often start with yoga to focus the mind and prepare the body, followed by a surf session when ocean conditions are best. The schedule is flexible, allowing you to choose whether to surf in the morning or afternoon, and there's even the option to add extra days or rest days.
The surf lessons are led by a local surf school that prides itself on making surfing accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience. You'll receive personalized coaching in small groups, and photos and videos of your sessions are included so you can see your progress. Fruits and water are provided during surf lessons to keep you energized.
Yoga classes cater to different levels and styles, from dynamic Vinyasa to gentle Yin. Your host, Joelle, will guide you to the studios and help you choose classes that suit your needs. The combination of surfing and yoga is especially effective because both emphasize breath control and balance, helping you become a more confident surfer and a more relaxed person.
Santa Teresa itself is a highlight, a laid-back beach town on the Nicoya Peninsula known for its stunning sunsets, jungle-lined beaches, and vibrant international community. When you're not in the water or on the mat, you can explore the town, visit nearby waterfalls, or simply relax on the beach.
