Home › Retreats › 100-Hour Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas
Rishikesh · 12 days · From USD 465
Set in Rishikesh – the 'Yoga Capital of the World' – this training takes place at Upasana Yogshala, a school on the right bank of the Ganges River, framed by the Himalayan foothills. The city itself is vegetarian-only and alcohol-free, which makes it easier to stay focused on the practice. The daily schedule is full but balanced: you're up at 6am for asana and pranayama, then move through Hatha, alignment, philosophy, anatomy, and Ashtanga before dinner at 7pm. Sundays are for excursions to local temples, an ashram, and a waterfall. The teaching team is strong – Rajesh, a Rishikesh native with a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification, leads Ashtanga; Kalpendra has been teaching meditation and pranayama for over 16 years; Ravi brings 15 years of Hatha and Iyengar experience; and Shubham adds a solid grounding in anatomy and philosophy. With only 10 to 20 participants, you get personal attention and clear feedback. The curriculum touches on everything from the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita to sequencing, adjustments, kriyas, and the business side of teaching. By the end, you'll not only have your teaching certificate but also a much deeper sense of what yoga is beyond the poses.
