Rishikesh · 13 days · From USD 673
The 100-hour YTT at Moksha Yoga Shala (the school behind this listing) is structured as the first half of a 200-hour certification, making it a solid start for aspiring teachers. You'll practice Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, Hatha alignment, and also explore Yin and Restorative for a balanced approach. The curriculum includes a detailed breakdown of key asanas by category – from Surya Namaskar to balancing and inversion postures – with a focus on proper alignment and safe adjustments.
Philosophy is a core component, with about 10-15 hours dedicated to Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the eight limbs, the four paths of yoga, and the three gunas. You'll also study anatomy and physiology, learning how the body moves in asana and how to prevent injuries. Teaching methodology is practical: you'll practice verbal cues, hands-on adjustments, and sequencing, culminating in supervised teaching sessions with your peers.
A distinctive element is the daily practice of Shatkarma, the yogic cleansing techniques like Jal Neti and Trataka. These are traditionally done in the early morning to detoxify the body and prepare the mind for deeper practice. Alongside asana, you'll learn multiple pranayama techniques – Nadi Shodhana, Bhastrika, Ujjayi – to regulate the nervous system.
What makes this training unique is its location and leadership. The school is run by Hari Ji, who combines yoga with naturopathy for emotional detox, and the faculty includes Vishal Sharma, a Master's in Yogic Science and E-RYT 500 teacher with nearly a decade of experience, and Yogi Ankit Tiwari, a 500-ERYT who trained at KPJAYI in Mysore. You're learning from Indian masters in the birthplace of yoga.
