Home › Retreats › 100-Hour Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training on a Tropical Thai Beach
Koh Phangan · 13 days · From USD 1499
The training begins on the first evening with an opening ceremony and dinner together, setting the tone for the two weeks ahead. Each day follows a rhythm that balances deep practice with study: sunrise sadhana and a guided meditation, a dynamic yang yoga class to balance the long-held yin postures, theory and methodology sessions, and a late-afternoon yin immersion. In the early weeks, you'll learn the 35 core yin poses, their functional and energetic qualities, and how to use props effectively. As the course progresses, you move into the art of teaching — sequencing by Daoist elements and meridians, practicing conscious touch, and leading your peers in class with constructive feedback.
What sets this training apart is its integration of Eastern medicine. Dr. Denkinger, who is also a licensed acupuncturist, teaches the 12 primary meridians, the five Daoist elements, and the concept of Chi flow — linking each pose to its energetic and emotional value. You'll learn acupressure points to stimulate the body's healing response and explore the relationship between fascia, breath, and emotion. This is not a stretch-and-hold course; it's a deep exploration of how Yin Yoga can address physical pain, emotional blockages, and chronic stress.
The venue is The Sanctuary on Haad Tien beach — a renowned wellness retreat on Koh Phangan's remote east coast. With no roads and no traffic, the only sounds are the jungle and the waves. The property offers a spa, wellness centre, and a restaurant serving vegetarian and vegan meals. Your accommodation is simple and tropical: choose between a mixed-gender dorm, a private bungalow, or a deluxe room with air conditioning and hot water. The community feel is strong, and the setting encourages genuine connection and rest between study sessions.
Certification is a key benefit: upon completion, you'll receive a 100-hour certificate from The Centre (an RYS 300 registered school with Yoga Alliance) that counts toward a 300-hour Yoga Alliance certification or as continuing education credits. You'll also earn a 100-hour Yin Yoga Therapy™ practitioner diploma, which can be built upon for Alexandra's 700-hour Yin Yoga Therapy™ professional diploma. For those new to teaching or deepening their practice, this training provides both the knowledge and the practical confidence to step into a teaching role.
