100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Escape in Rishikesh

Rishikesh · 12 days · From USD 499

The 100-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh is run by D'vine Yoga, a certified international yoga school registered with the Yoga Alliance (RYS). The training takes place at the Jyotirgamaya Vatika ashram on Swargashram Jonk Road, in the Swarg Ashram area of Rishikesh. The location sits near Geeta Ashram Hospital and Laxman Jhula Road, putting you in the spiritual heart of the city while still being close to nature – the property borders a forest area where you might spot birds and animals during your stay.

A typical day starts early, with pranayama, meditation, and shatkarmas at 5:30 AM, followed by an Ashtanga yoga practice. After breakfast, the academic side of the training kicks in: anatomy classes, teaching methodology, and studies of the Yoga Sutras or philosophy. Afternoons are dedicated to Yoga Nidra, restorative and therapeutic yoga with alignment guidance, and Hatha or Hatha Vinyasa. Evenings wind down with meditation, kirtan, or bhajan singing, and dinner at 7 PM. The schedule is dense, but it is designed to build both your personal practice and your ability to teach.

The instructors bring a mix of traditional and modern expertise. Swami Satchidananda, the lead teacher, holds an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and a 950-hour therapeutic yoga certification (IAYT). He has studied yoga since childhood and is praised in guest reviews for his ability to teach complex subjects in a simple, direct way. Dr. Hemlata Saklani Bahuguna covers anatomy and physio-yoga therapy, bringing a physiotherapy background to the training. Sudhanshu Ji, who completed his Master in Yoga from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, teaches asana, alignment, and meditation, and also offers advice on ayurvedic nutrition and doshas.

What sets this school apart is the combination of strict discipline and genuine care. Guests describe it as a family atmosphere – warm, attentive, and structured. Reviewers note the high-quality sattvic food, clean and comfortable rooms, and the challenge of the course itself. The school expects commitment: no alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or caffeine; full attendance at classes; and respect for the teachers and the space. In return, you leave with the skills to run your own classes, a personal daily practice, and a clearer understanding of yoga's philosophy and history.

The training is intense, but it is also an opportunity to reset your lifestyle. With 11 nights of accommodation, three daily meals, and a full course manual included, everything you need is on site. You will come away with a Yoga Alliance certification (YACEP for this 100-hour course) and, as many graduates say, a new sense of direction.
