Rishikesh · 11 days · From USD 800
The 100-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Moola Yoga is a residential program that blends traditional teachings with modern methodology. The curriculum is based on the Ashtanga Yoga system as established by Sage Patanjali, with a strong focus on the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series and traditional Hatha Yoga. Each day is thoughtfully balanced between physical practice, philosophical study, and hands-on teaching experience.
Morning sessions typically start with pranayama and meditation, followed by a 2-3 hour asana practice. Afternoons are dedicated to anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology, where you learn how to sequence classes, deliver cues, and offer adjustments. Evening activities include kirtan, movie nights, and group discussions, ending with a restorative practice.
The teachers at Moola Yoga are deeply rooted in Indian yoga traditions. Aayush, co-founder and lead teacher, began his Ashtanga practice at 13 in Mysore and brings decades of experience. Rebecca, co-founder, specializes in Hatha and Vinyasa and trained in Nepal. Himanshu, a Rishikesh native, has 16 years of practice and specializes in asanas, pranayama, and Shatkarma. Dr. Harsh, an Ayurvedic practitioner, teaches the principles of Ayurveda and its integration with yoga.
Rishikesh is known as the Yoga Capital of the World, and the school's location in the foothills of the Himalayas offers a unique environment for deepening your practice. The sacred Ganga River is just a short walk away, and the town is filled with ashrams, temples, and a vibrant spiritual culture.
This training is ideal for those who want a solid foundation in yoga teaching or wish to deepen their personal practice. The curriculum is designed to prepare you for leading safe and engaging classes, with hands-on practicum sessions where you will teach under supervision. Upon completion, you receive a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education certificate, which serves as a stepping stone toward the full 200-hour certification.
