100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 12 days · From USD 630

The training takes place at Rishikul Yogshala's campus in the Jonk area of Swargashram, a few minutes' walk from the Ram Jhula bridge over the Ganges. The location matters: temple bells drift in with the morning, and the river runs past the village, so the whole experience is framed by the sounds and rhythms of spiritual India. The campus itself is simple and clean—rooms with attached bathrooms, hot water, Wi-Fi, and a yoga shala where most sessions happen. You'll have shared or private rooms depending on what you book, and all meals are taken together in the dining area.

The course is structured around a fixed daily schedule that builds from the first full day. You start with herbal tea at 6:25 AM, then move through Ashtanga yoga, pranayama, breakfast, philosophy, adjustment and alignment, lunch, mantra, Hatha yoga, and evening meditation or yoga nidra. There are no formal days off—the organizers believe that consistency is what creates change—but there's a weekend excursion and time for self-study built into the rhythm.

What sets this program apart is the balance between practice and theory. You spend about three hours a day in asana practice across two styles, but you also sit down for daily philosophy and anatomy talks. The teachers—including Bipin Baloni, who runs the school, and Yogi Prashant Ji—have been teaching in Rishikesh for over a decade each. They're known for making the traditional texts and alignment principles feel practical rather than academic.

The course is accredited by Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance International, which means the 100 hours count toward your larger certification if you decide to continue with a 200-hour training later. Many students who take this foundation course go on to do the 200 or 300-hour programs at the same school, sometimes returning the following season.

You'll be part of a small group—typically between 1 and 20 participants—so you get individual attention during alignment adjustments. The other students tend to come from all over the world, though most are new to yoga training. Ages range from 18 to 60, but the majority are in their late 20s to 40s, here for the same reason: to step away from normal life and give yoga a concentrated period of focus.
