India · 11 days · From USD 1000
The training is a 100-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training, but it's not just about learning to teach. You'll spend ten days building a grounded, steady practice that you can carry with you. Mornings begin with a 90-minute asana and pranayama session that works through standing and seated poses, forward bends, hip openers, twists, backbends, inversions, and hand balances. The pace is gradual—foundational work prepares you for deeper postures without pressure. The teaching emphasizes simple verbal cues, basic alignment, and safe adjustments, so you learn to move with care.
Meditation is part of the daily routine. The resort is quiet, which makes it easier to sit and observe. You'll learn both the theory and the practice of meditation in a way that's simple to use in daily life. Pranayama classes introduce classical breathing techniques from texts like the Hatha Pradipika, and you'll also practice mantra chanting, both individually and in groups. Yoga philosophy is taught in a grounded, practical way—you'll explore the eight limbs and the Yoga Sutras, but always in relation to everyday life, not just as abstract ideas.
Teaching methodology is a big part of the course. You'll learn how to sequence a class, how to teach safely, and how to adapt to different students. Anatomy sessions help you understand how the body moves and how postures affect muscles and joints. You'll also get guidance on the practical side of teaching—building confidence, sharing your work, and understanding how yoga teaching can function as a livelihood. The course also introduces active and passive meditations, yoga nidra, and the practice of Jalneti, a nasal cleansing technique.
The location adds a lot. Mandrem is a quieter part of Goa, known for its open beaches and slower pace. La Vera Boutique Resort is surrounded by greenery, with open spaces that feel simple and uncluttered. It's away from the crowded tourist spots, which makes it easy to focus on practice and rest. The beach is a short walk away, and early mornings and evenings there are quiet—good for walks or just sitting by the sea. The whole setting supports turning inward, which is exactly what a training like this is about.
