12 Day 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 12 days · From USD 431

The 100-hour course is structured as the first half of a 200-hour teacher training. You'll cover the fundamental topics: yoga philosophy (including the Yoga Sutras), anatomy and physiology, and the practical skills of teaching asanas and pranayama. The curriculum is packed, with classes from early morning until evening, so expect to be busy. But the teaching is personal—classes are small (between 2 and 15 people), and teachers like Azad and Mahesh know each student individually.

Azad Bhatt, who leads much of the asana and pranayama training, studied at the International Vishwaguru School of Yoga in Rishikesh and completed his 200-hour and 300-hour trainings at Rishikesh Yog Peeth. He's registered with Yoga Alliance USA. Students praise his ability to correct alignment and help them get postures right technically, even after years of practice elsewhere. Mahesh Bhatt, who teaches anatomy and therapy, graduated from Garhwal University with a science background and has a deep knowledge of how yoga affects the body and mind.

The location itself is a highlight. Rishikesh sits on the Ganges River at the foothills of the Himalayas, and the whole town is dedicated to yoga and spirituality. You're within walking distance of the famous Laxman Jhula bridge and countless ashrams. The school arranges weekend excursions—to Vashistha Cave, sunrise temple tours, and other local sites—so you get to see more than just the classroom.

What really sets Arogya apart is the feeling of being part of a family. Reviews consistently mention the warmth of the staff, the home-cooked vegetarian meals, and the bonds formed with fellow trainees. The course is intense, but the support makes it manageable. And if you want to continue, you can return to complete your 200 hours at any point within 30 months after finishing this first semester.
