12-Day Hatha & Yin Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas, Rishikesh

This 12-day teacher training is built around two core styles of yoga: Hatha and Yin. It’s not a general survey course that dabbles in everything – it goes deep into these two methods, which makes it a great choice if you want a solid, focused foundation in becoming a yoga teacher. You'll learn the mechanics of strength-building Hatha asanas, with a strong emphasis on proper alignment and mindful transitions, and then balance that with the stillness and deep release of Yin Yoga.

The training is structured to give you both personal practice and teaching skills. You'll study yoga philosophy, energy principles, and basic anatomy so you can understand why poses are taught the way they are. Then you'll move into teaching methodology – how to sequence a Hatha class safely and effectively, how to guide students, and how to create the right atmosphere. By the end of the two weeks, you'll have taught practice classes and gotten feedback from your teachers.

The location is a key part of the experience. Adhiroha is perched in the hills above Rishikesh, surrounded by forests and springs, with a waterfall nearby. It's about a kilometer uphill from the Tapovan market, so you can easily walk into town for a chai or to explore cafes and shops on your day off. The ashram itself is designed to be a calm, sacred space, with a unique yoga shala, a meditation cave, and beautiful grounds.

Your lead teacher is Shankar Das, the founder and director of Adhiroha. He's deeply rooted in the traditional teachings of yoga and has created a program that balances ancient wisdom with modern teaching techniques. The staff at the ashram are known for being incredibly supportive, available around the clock, and they go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and well-cared for.
