Indonesia · 13 days · From EUR 1590
This training runs for 13 days and awards a 100-hour certification in Yin Yoga and bodywork. The curriculum is split between Yin principles — long holds, functional approach to alignment, working with the breath — and somatic bodywork techniques drawn from therapeutic touch. You'll cover how to read someone's body patterns, how to sequence a class so the bodywork lands in the right place, and how to hold space so students feel safe enough to let go.
The bodywork component is the main difference from a standard Yin teacher training. You'll learn assisted Yin release techniques, which are hands-on adjustments and holds that help students unwind tension in specific areas. The course teaches you to offer this both in group classes and in private sessions. You'll practise on other participants and receive the work yourself, which is how you build sensitivity to what's actually happening in someone else's body.
Each day usually starts with a morning Yin practice or meditation, then moves into teaching methodology or bodywork labs. Afternoons are for practice teaching, receiving feedback, and sometimes a restorative session. There's also time built in for self-study and rest — this is a training, but it's not a bootcamp. The setting in Bali means you're surrounded by humidity, greenery, and the sounds of the island, which tends to make the slower pace easier to drop into.
Alexandra Denkinger is a medical doctor (M.D.) and acupuncturist who specialises in Yin Yoga Therapy™. She's based in Sri Lanka and runs several trainings across Asia, including a 200-hour Ayurveda & Yin Yoga training in Goa and a 200-hour Yin, Sound Healing & Cacao Ceremony training in Bali. Her background in medicine and acupuncture shows up in the way she teaches bodywork — there's an emphasis on anatomy, nervous system regulation, and safe, informed touch rather than just following a script.
The training is non-residential by default, but there are residential packages that include accommodation at Alexandra Denkinger (the venue). You can choose shared or single AC garden villas, or a superior AC breeze villa. If you're local or prefer to arrange your own stay, the non-residential option lets you attend the training only. Meals are tailored to the group, and dietary needs are confirmed once you book.
What sets this apart from other Yin trainings is the focus on touch. Most Yin teacher trainings teach you to hold a pose and cue it. This one teaches you to use your hands therapeutically within that framework, so you leave able to offer something more than a guided relaxation — you can give assisted release work that people actually feel. It's a niche skill, and it's taught here by someone with a clinical background.
