14-Day South India Yoga & Culture Immersion: Sacred Sites, Backwaters, and Self-Discovery

India · 14 days · From USD 2222

The journey is structured in three phases. It begins outside Bangalore at Shivagange, a sacred mountain and temple site, where you start turning inward. Then it moves to Tiruvannamalai for three days at the base of Arunachala, one of South India's most powerful spiritual centers — you'll walk the mountain's pilgrimage path, visit temples, and have time for meditation and quiet. From there, the route climbs into the Kolli Hills, a misty, less-visited region of forests and spice gardens, then drops to the Surruli Falls for jungle walks and waterfalls.

The next stop is Kanyakumari, India's southernmost tip, where the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and Bay of Bengal meet — an unmistakably dramatic place to reflect. The final phase happens in Kerala's backwaters in Alleppey, where you slow down completely, take Ayurvedic treatments by choice, and ride a boat through palm-lined canals.

Throughout, Maxi teaches a practical, accessible Hatha-Vinyasa yoga that suits complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Classes happen most mornings, depending on the travel schedule. There are also daily meditation and pranayama sessions, plus regular sharing circles so everyone has a chance to speak and be heard.

What makes this trip distinct is who runs it. Maxi is a certified yoga therapist and long-term traveler; Kumara is an Indian doctor and spiritual teacher with deep roots in the region. Together they act as guides, translators, and hosts, not tour operators. You're invited to participate as much or as little as you want — every activity is optional, and the schedule is flexible.
