14-Day Yoga and Wellness Escape in Bali's Hidden Nest

14-Day Yoga and Wellness Escape in Bali's Hidden Nest

Indonesia · 14 days · From USD 865

The heart of this retreat is the daily yoga practice in the 60-square-meter bamboo shala. The structure is open-sided, set on the grass next to the rice fields, so during class you're looking out at green and water rather than a wall. Certified teachers run two sessions each day—a morning class to energize, and an evening class focused on relaxation and stretching. All the props you could want—mats, blocks, bolsters, and belts—are provided. The teaching draws on breathwork, asanas, meditation, and elements of coaching, and the teachers encourage students to find what works for them rather than forcing a single style.

One of the things that sets this retreat apart from a standard yoga holiday is the size and the location. With only seven guest rooms and a maximum of fourteen guests, it feels private and personal. The camp itself, called The Holy Camp, was created by a former sacred healer, and the grounds still carry that sense of intention—spiritual statues, fountains, high trees, a fish pond, and flowers everywhere. Architecturally, it’s a mix of traditional Balinese style and clean Western touches: white walls, stone floors, open-air showers. The pool is 12 meters long and sits next to the garden, with loungers for reading or stretching in the sun.

The food is plant-based and made on-site by a chef who focuses on keeping things sugar-free and gluten-free. Expect generous daily breakfasts and dinners, a treat for anyone used to bland retreat food. The drinking water is Balian volcanic spring water, and it’s unlimited, as is tea and coffee. The host Priyal is directly involved in preparing your stay, and the broader team is often described by guests as operating like a family. That informal, cared-for atmosphere is part of why so many guests report feeling comfortable immediately and leaving with real friendships, not just a pleasant holiday.

While yoga is the anchor, the retreat also leaves generous space for exploring. Canggu’s beaches—Pererenan, Echo Beach, and Batu Bolong—are a short drive away, as are countless cafes, boutiques, and local food spots. There are optional surf classes for an extra fee, and the weekly mindful workshop could include anything from mala making to other hands-on practices. The long format means you can actually rest, read, take a scooter into town, or simply hang by the pool without feeling like you’re running out of time.
