15-Day Ayurvedic Wellness and Yoga Escape in Phuket, Thailand

Mangosteen Ayurveda Resort has been running Ayurveda and wellness programs since 2010, and it's one of the few places in Phuket with a certified Indian Ayurvedic doctor living on site. That's the core of what makes this retreat different—you're not on a generic yoga-and-massage holiday. The doctor does a full consultation at the start, using pulse reading and traditional examination to figure out your dosha, then chooses from four different programs designed around specific goals. Ayuryoga Chaitanya targets 'freeness and lightness'—flushing out toxins with daily powdered scrub treatments and detox steams. Ojasi is about aging and radiance, using medicated oil massages and enemas. Shodhana is the full purification track, working from the outside with herbal pouch therapy and from the inside with teas and purgation. Sandhi is the joint-care program, with therapies like leaf pouch treatments and medicated oil applications aimed at chronic aches. Whichever track you're on, the structure is the same: a consultation and initial treatment on day one, four consecutive days of 120-minute treatments where you pick from a rotating list, a deeper purification day on day six (which means no breakfast or lunch—just dinner), and a final face massage and lunch on day seven. The yoga runs alongside all of it—two Nirvana yoga sessions a day, morning and afternoon—taught by a small team of instructors including Koong, who trained in Rishikesh, and Ann, who has eight years of teaching across Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Aerial. All the food is vegan, built around 'satvik' principles—light, fresh, cooked simply—and adjusted to your Ayurvedic profile. With 14 nights, this is a slow, thorough reset rather than a quick fix.
