Home › Retreats › 15 Day Ceremonial Yoga, Ayurveda & Reiki Teacher Training on North Stradbroke Island, Australia
Queensland · 15 days · From USD 4117
The retreat is a 200-hour + 300-hour Yoga Healer Training, delivered in a ceremonial way. Each day is mapped out as a Dinichariya (Ayurvedic daily routine) that threads through the seasons, providing a nurturing and rejuvenating structure. Mornings begin at 5:30 AM with a tea ceremony, followed by meditation, pranayama, and a self-practice led by international teachers from Ashtanga, Hatha, Iyengar, Vedic, and Vinyasa backgrounds. Afternoons are filled with interactive lectures, mentoring, and workshop-based learning covering anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology.
The curriculum is a rich blend of modalities: Abode Yoga (a healing form), Reiki, Ayurveda, Vedic counselling, body psychology, cosmic body work, and earth medicine. You will study the 8 limbs of yoga from the Ayurvedic healthcare perspective, dive into the doshas, learn about women's yoga including menstruation, conception, pregnancy, and postpartum practices, and gain hands-on experience with Ayurvedic treatments like Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and Yoni steaming. The training is heart-centered and intuitive, with a focus on healing your own relationship with yourself, which is seen as the foundation for helping others.
The location is North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), the world's second-largest sand island, in Queensland, Australia. The property is a coastal sanctuary, oceanfront by the subtropical bush, in a sleepy town that runs on island time. The bungalows are set on 1.6 hectares with a tropical pool and gardens. The island's natural beauty—its beaches, lakes, and mountains—provides the backdrop for meditation, ceremonies, and extra-curricular activities like surfing lessons and cultural learning. The retreat is led by Randall Simpson, founder of Abode Yoga, and Daniel Young, with a team of international teachers and healers.
