Andalusia · 29 days · From USD 2750
The 200-hour teacher training at Wild Warrior Yoga is a full immersion into Ashtanga Vinyasa, designed to take you from student to confident teacher. The curriculum is built around five core modules: asana practice, pranayama and meditation, anatomy and alignment, teaching methodology, and yoga philosophy. Each day is structured so that physical practice is balanced with theory, and you'll start teaching from the very first lesson, refining your skills through peer feedback and practical exercises.
Asana practice focuses on learning the Ashtanga Primary Series as a foundation. For the first two weeks, your lead teacher guides you through the entire series, with an assistant providing adjustments. Once the group is ready, you'll shift to the traditional self-practice style, which is excellent for building independence and confidence. On Tuesdays and Fridays, the practice becomes a themed Vinyasa flow, such as arm balancing or working toward Hanumanasana, giving you ideas for your own future classes.
The anatomy and alignment module is integrated directly with the Ashtanga sequence. Instead of just learning how poses look, you'll understand how they function in your own body and others, including useful modifications. Philosophy classes cover the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the eight limbs, with a focus on the yamas and niyamas. You'll also get two introductory Ayurveda classes to round out your understanding of the yogic lifestyle.
What sets this training apart is its commitment to making you job-ready. The teaching methodology module covers creative sequencing, use of voice, clear cueing, and inclusivity. By the end, you'll have a one-hour class—either a set template or your own creation—that you can teach anywhere and adapt to different levels. The small group size, with a maximum of twelve participants, means you'll receive personalized feedback and support throughout.
The villa is set in the Andalusian countryside, a peaceful retreat from daily life. Los Caños de Meca, a short walk away, is a laid-back beach town known for its surfing and bohemian vibe. In your free time, you can explore the white hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera, the historic city of Cadiz, or the surf beach of El Palmar. The course runs from November, and the mild southern Spanish winter makes it an ideal time to focus on your practice without the summer crowds.
