200-Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training on the Caribbean Coast, Colombia

Akasha Yoga School has been running teacher trainings for over seven years and has certified more than 700 yoga teachers worldwide. This 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa program is the school's core offering, and it's structured around eight detailed modules that take you from foundational practice to advanced teaching skills.

The curriculum is thorough and varied. You'll start with the Ashtanga method, learning the primary series and getting an overview of the intermediate series, with a focus on adjustments, alignment, and the energetic principles of the practice. From there, you'll move into Hatha yoga mastery, exploring classical asanas, structural alignment, and intelligent sequencing. Modern biomechanics are covered in depth, giving you a solid understanding of anatomy and how to apply it safely to your own practice and to teaching others.

Pranayama and bandhas are given dedicated attention, as are the more subtle aspects of yoga: the nadis, koshas, and chakras. Philosophy draws on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, presented in a way that is accessible and relevant to modern life. There's also a unique module on sound healing, led by Pablo, where you'll learn to work with Himalayan and crystal bowls, and a module on meditation and Yoga Nidra to help you guide others into deep states of relaxation.

The training also covers the practical side of teaching. You'll learn how to sequence classes for different levels, how to use your voice and presence effectively, and how to give safe, confident hands-on adjustments. Marketing and the business of teaching are also touched on, so you'll feel prepared to start your career as a yoga instructor.
