200-Hour Hybrid Yoga Teacher Training Immersion in Costa Rica

The Center for Natural Living has been training yoga teachers in Costa Rica for fifteen years, and this hybrid program is the culmination of that experience. The journey begins online, with live evening classes twice a week that cover anatomy, alignment, and philosophy. This groundwork means that when you arrive in Costa Rica, you can step straight into hands-on practice, building sequences and adjusting students with confidence.

Once in Playa Hermosa, the in-person immersion runs for two weeks at the Beachfront Hotel Tramonto Jaco. The daily schedule is anchored by sunrise meditation and pranayama on the beach, followed by a full day of asana labs, teaching practice, philosophy discussions, and restorative evening sessions. The ocean isn't just a backdrop; it's a co-teacher. The sound of the waves, the warm salt air, and the spectacle of the sunset all become part of your learning.

What makes this training distinctive is the quality of the instruction. Irum Naqvi, the founder, brings 40 years of personal practice and 15 years of teaching experience, with a deep mastery of classical Raja and Hatha yoga. Maria, a 500-hour certified teacher, surfer, runner, and entrepreneur, co-facilitates, offering a grounded, modern perspective. Together, they balance deep lineage wisdom with real-world grit, ensuring you learn yoga that's both authentic and applicable.

The curriculum emphasizes a 'radically accessible' teaching methodology. You'll learn to sequence classes that are strengthening and balancing, but also welcoming to all body types and experience levels. By the end, you'll have the tools to teach in a high-intensity studio or a gentle community center, with equal ease. You'll also receive a course manual, have access to recordings of online sessions, and receive pre- and post-training support from the team.
