Home › Retreats › 200-Hour Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Dharamshala
India · 22 days · From USD 900
The training is built around a multi-style curriculum that includes anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, the history and tradition of yoga, the concept of kundalini, yogic breathing, pranayama, meditation, Kriya yoga (yogic cleansing), asana alignment and modifications, pranayama assisting, sequencing, chakras, postural adjustment, and multiple yoga styles (Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Alignment).
A typical day starts early with asana practice, followed by pranayama and meditation. Sessions on teaching methodology help you understand how to set intentions, create class themes, sequence a class, determine mat formation, demonstrate poses properly, and observe breath and body. You'll practice teaching your peers in a small group environment.
The lead instructor, Alpesh, began yoga as a child to manage epilepsy, learning from Jain monks and later studying with teachers in Pune and Rishikesh. Influenced by Iyengar yoga since 2006, he brings a deep understanding of alignment to the program. He is joined by Shivansh, who holds a strong base in yoga anatomy, and Roopam, who specializes in philosophy, pranayama, and meditation.
The retreat takes place in Dharamkot, a village known for its yogic and religious significance, visited by yoga lovers from around the world. It's also home to the Tibetan community and the Dalai Lama, offering a rich cultural backdrop. On weekends, you can explore the vibrant McLeod Ganj, hike in the mountains, or simply enjoy the natural beauty.
