Home › Retreats › 200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Immersion in Portugal's Algarve
Portugal · 21 days · From USD 2999
The 200-hour training is built around a deliberate daily structure that combines practice, theory, and hands-on teaching experience. Mornings start with meditation, breathwork, and chanting before a 90-minute vinyasa or restorative asana practice. The rest of the morning is given to posture clinics and anatomy workshops, then teaching methodology and practicum where students practice cueing and sequencing on each other. Afternoons include a lecture on yoga philosophy, history, or ethics, followed by embodied movement and meditation before dinner. The schedule has three full days off across the three weeks for rest, excursions, or time at the beach.
The curriculum is what sets this training apart from shorter or more asana-focused options. Alongside the physical practice, there are dedicated sessions on the nervous system and regulation, functional anatomy, pranayama, the chakras, and the yoga sutras. A significant portion of the program is given to practice teaching — students lead sequences for their peers, receive feedback, and work through a sequencing project that becomes the basis of their own class. The program also includes ceremony and ritual elements: an opening and closing ceremony, a cacao ceremony, and a mala-making session.
The setting is central to the experience. The main training villa, Monte Sobradhino, is where classes and meals happen, perched on the hillside with ocean views. Students stay either in the main villa or at Casa Tranquila, a separate property about 1.5 km away with its own pool, kitchen, and garden. Daily shuttles run between the two. Loulé is close enough for trips into town, and the Algarve's beaches and hiking trails are within easy reach for the days off.
