Mexico · 11 days · From USD 2846
This 200-hour teacher training in Tulum is a proper deep-dive into vinyasa flow yoga, and it wears its heart on its sleeve: the point is to give you the skills to teach, but also to give you a real experience of the yogic lifestyle. The curriculum covers asana practice and alignment, pranayama, meditation, vinyasa sequencing, and hands-on adjustment, plus yoga anatomy and the philosophy that underpins the practice. You'll also explore chakras, bandhas, and mantras, and you'll learn how to build a class from the ground up — not just by copying sequences but by understanding why they work.
What makes it different from a big-box YTT is the scale. The group is kept small — between one and four participants — which means you're getting near-private attention. Every day is structured with a clear arc: a long morning practice on the yoga deck, then lectures and asana labs in the afternoon where you break down postures and the art of teaching them. Evenings are mostly yours to rest, swim, or wander into town, but there's a daily self-study session before lights out that keeps you engaged with the material.
The setting is a real part of the experience. Tulum has a reputation for its boho energy and natural beauty, and while the training days are full, you get at least one half or full day off to swim in cenotes, visit the Mayan ruins, or just lie on the beach that's about a 20-minute drive away. The accommodation is a property called Central Park Lagunas, about 6.3 km from the Tulum Archaeological Site. It has an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a garden, and a restaurant, and each room has a kitchenette and a private bathroom. The rooms are set up so you can close the door on the world and focus on the training.
Tugba, the lead trainer, brings her own background in feminine coaching and embodiment practice to the course. That means the training leans into self-inquiry as much as technique — you're not just learning how to teach a downward dog; you're being asked to connect with why you practice and what you want to share. Students consistently mention her patience, her deep knowledge of yoga, and the way she makes an intense program feel safe and encouraging. It's a lot of hours, but you're supported through it, and you'll finish with the confidence to stand in front of a class and teach with your own voice.
