Kathmandu · 21 days · From USD 1208
The training starts each morning with a 90-minute asana class, moving through Hatha, Ashtanga, and Kundalini styles across the three weeks. After breakfast, you are into meditation and pranayama, where you will learn a genuinely wide range of techniques — breathing meditation, Vipassana, So Ham, chakra, mantra, and guided sessions. The afternoon brings anatomy, physiology, and yoga philosophy, taught from a practical angle that connects the classical texts to modern life. Later there is self-practice time, then a sequence-and-relaxation session before dinner.
It doesn't stop at the physical. The curriculum includes a serious chunk of chanting, with the Gayatri Mantra, the peace mantra, and the healing mantra all covered, plus an introduction to the six kriyas of yogic detox — neti, dhauti, nauli, basti, trataka, and kapalbhati. You will also learn mudras and bandhas in detail, and the teaching methodology module is practical: you'll prepare lesson plans, practice sequencing, demonstrate postures, and learn how to observe, assist, and correct in a real class setting.
What makes this particular training stand out is the teaching team. Prakash Acharya, the founder, has an M.Sc. in Yogic Science and Human Consciousness, and he spent years studying in ashrams, jungles, and caves across India and Nepal before developing his own meditation technique. He teaches alongside Tirtha, a Yoga Alliance certified Hatha and Ashtanga teacher, and Ram Hari, who holds an MA in yoga and is certified in Ashtanga/Vinyasa. Between them they cover very different angles on yoga, so you get a genuinely broad exposure over the three weeks.
The location is a real plus too. The school sits on the side of the city, close to the Nagarjun forest, so you can walk out into jungle trails for a break, and the famous Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath) is only 4 km away. The rooftop has Himalayan views, and the energy is noticeably calmer than central Kathmandu. It's a good base for a training that's as much about living yoga as it is about getting certified.
