A typical training day mixes physical practice with study and teaching practice. You work through Hatha and Vinyasa postures with alignment work — teachers including Krisna and Ricardo are shown assisting students through poses such as triangle and seated forward stretches — alongside anatomy lectures and sessions on yoga philosophy. Part of the course is learning to teach: you stand up and give cues to the group, which for many students is the first time they have done it.
The weekly rhythm is what makes the month manageable. Training runs six days, finishing at 1:00 pm on Saturday, and Sunday is completely clear. Past students say the material often clicks on the rest day, once the pressure is off — the postures, the philosophy and the teaching cues start to make more sense. The school treats that pause as part of the course rather than a break from it.
Sanur is quiet by Bali standards, which suits a month of study. The lagoon in front of the studio is calm and shallow, so an early swim is easy, and the beach path runs the length of the village past small cafés and market stalls. There are temples nearby and several small spas for a massage on a day off. Nusa Penida, the rice terraces and temples around Ubud, and some of Bali's waterfalls are all reachable as day trips if you want to use a Sunday to see something new.
What separates this from a generic teacher training is the built-in rest and the setting. The shala is bamboo and open-air, the beach is a short walk away, and the accommodation is the school's own guesthouse rather than a partner hotel. The 1.5-day weekly break is stated plainly as part of the structure, not something you have to negotiate.
The two weeks of unlimited classes either side of the training are worth noting. They let you arrive early and settle in, or stay on afterwards and keep practising without a fixed timetable. If you are comparing intakes, the team will talk you through the current schedule before you commit.
