200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Rishikesh

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Rishikesh

Rishikesh · 25 days · From USD 861

The training is structured around a traditional daily schedule. Mornings begin with pranayama and meditation, followed by a two-hour asana class focusing on Hatha and Vinyasa. Afternoons cover alignment, anatomy, and teaching methodology, with time for self-practice and study. Evenings often include mantra chanting, kirtan, satsang, or group sharing. There's also a weekly day off for excursions to local temples, waterfalls, and the surrounding nature.

One of the highlights is the quality of the teachers. Saransh, the lead facilitator, spent over five years living in ashrams and studying yoga psychology. Rajesh ji, a local Rishikesh native, holds a Master's in Yoga Science and teaches Vinyasa Flow with a focus on breath-linked movement. Jaggi ji, with an M.Sc. from Gurukul Kangri University, brings expertise in pranayama, meditation, and yoga therapy. Naveen ji, a former engineer turned Ashtanga and alignment instructor, ensures everyone practices safely. Together, they offer a blend of traditional wisdom and modern understanding.

The retreat center itself is a calm, nourishing space. There are open-air common areas, a quiet meditation corner, and an on-site café serving healthy snacks and drinks. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with hot water and free Wi-Fi. The surrounding neighborhood is full of yoga-friendly cafés, organic shops, and riverside spots, so you can easily spend your free time exploring or just relaxing.

Compared to other teacher trainings, this one stands out for its small group size—limited to 10 to 15 participants. That means you get personal adjustments and feedback in every class, and the teachers really get to know you. The location also adds a lot: you're practicing in the very place where yoga was born, and many students say that makes the experience feel more authentic and profound. Whether you're here to teach or just to deepen your own practice, this training offers a strong foundation and a memorable few weeks.
