21-Day 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training on Lake Atitlán, Guatemala

Guatemala · 21 days · From EUR 3750

The course is 21 days long and covers the full 200-hour syllabus: asana, alignment, sequencing, pranayama, meditation, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, and teaching methodology. You'll practise teaching in front of the group before you finish, so you're not walking out with theory alone. The other half of the curriculum is the Shamanic Medicine Wheel, worked through over four cycles aligned with the cardinal directions. It's not a bolt-on workshop — it runs alongside the yoga training for the whole three weeks.

A typical day starts early with meditation and pranayama before breakfast, then a long asana session in the morning. Afternoons are split between philosophy, anatomy and teaching practice, with a second physical practice later in the day. Evenings are mostly free, though there are some group sessions and ceremonies tied to the Medicine Wheel cycles.

What makes this one different is the combination. Most 200-hour trainings stick to the standard Yoga Alliance syllabus. Here the Shamanic Medicine Wheel is taught as a parallel framework across the full three weeks, so you're working with two traditions at once. It suits people who want the certification but also want the training to ask something of them personally.

Keri leads the training, and she's based in Guatemala. She runs several trainings in different countries — Bali, Portugal and Guatemala — and this is the Lake Atitlán edition. Full facilitator details are confirmed before you arrive.

The location is the other reason people choose this one. Lake Atitlán is ringed by volcanoes and Maya villages, and the water is clean enough to swim in. Mornings are clear, afternoons often cloud over, and the light is very good. It's a quiet place, and three weeks is long enough to settle into it rather than just pass through.
