Thailand · 21 days · From USD 2806
JP Boxing Gym is a family-run Muay Thai camp in Phitsanulok, a city steeped in history and the legendary land of King Naresuan the Great. This long-stay retreat is for anyone wanting to improve fitness, lose weight sustainably, learn Muay Thai safely, and experience Thai culture beyond the tourist trail. Training is adapted for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, focusing on technique, conditioning, and confidence rather than aggression.
Each day combines Muay Thai and Western boxing sessions with yoga and stretching. You'll learn traditional techniques, including Muay Thai Boran, with pad work, bag work, and optional clinching and sparring. Sessions may happen in the gym or outdoors by the river. Afternoons include yoga for mobility and flexibility, with styles like Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yin. Recovery is taken seriously—unlimited sauna and ice bath access is included, and Thai massage is available.
The retreat also includes cultural excursions that set it apart. You'll participate in the Tuesday Morning River Run and Palace Training, the Friday Pagoda Mountain Challenge, and the Red Buddha Run. Weekly night market visits and temple tours are included, and there are options for cooking classes and meditation at waterfalls. The schedule is flexible, so you can tailor activities to your energy and interests.
Run by Kru Jay, who learned from the legendary Samart Payakaroon, the coaching team is experienced with beginners. The camp feels welcoming and supportive, with guests often describing it as becoming part of a family. You'll leave with new skills, renewed energy, and a deeper connection to Thai culture and the art of Muay Thai.
