22-Day Traditional Yoga Teacher Training & Wellness Immersion in Chiang Mai

22-Day Traditional Yoga Teacher Training & Wellness Immersion in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai · 22 days · From USD 1801

Every day of this 22-day training starts with a daily Hatha and Ashtanga yoga class, followed by pranayama practices, mantra recitation, and karma yoga. You'll learn the full 200-hour curriculum, including classical postures, the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, sun salutations, and various pranayama techniques like nadi shodhana and kapalabhati. Evening sessions often include meditation, yoga nidra, and relaxation practices.

The philosophy is taught practically. You'll cover the six schools of Indian philosophy, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads, and the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. Ayurveda is also a key part, with a doctor sharing how to balance the doshas and understand your constitution. Anatomy and physiology classes look at how yoga affects the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems.

What makes it different from a standard resort course is the authenticity. The teachers, led by Acharya Chandramani, who has spent 25+ years in Rishikesh, come straight from Indian traditions. Acharya has a Ph.D. in Yoga Vashishtha and lives a daily meditative practice. Siddhesh, another instructor, blends Ashtanga with Iyengar, Wheel, Yin, and Acro yoga, bringing in modern psychology with Upanishadic teachings. You're learning from people who have lived this path, not just read about it.

The location is in Mae Win, a serene hill area south of Chiang Mai city. The accommodation is within a Thai-style resort, where the school has taken over 90% of the bungalows. It's peaceful, with mountain views, but you're also learning to follow a yogic discipline—no alcohol, no smoking, no non-vegetarian food within the premises. The daily schedule runs from early morning to evening, with plenty of time for practice, study, and rest.

You'll also get practical teaching experience—planning lessons, practicing with fellow students, and getting feedback. By the end, you're eligible to register with Yoga Alliance USA if you want to teach internationally. The school provides all textbooks and a training manual, and the small group size means lots of personal attention, which past students have praised for its patience and inclusivity.
