Rishikesh · 22 days · From USD 513
This 200-hour teacher training in Rishikesh is a comprehensive program that goes beyond the mat. It's designed to give you the skills to teach internationally, but also to transform your personal practice. The curriculum is rooted in traditional Himalayan teachings, taught in a way that's accessible to modern students. You'll learn not just how to do asanas, but the meditative steps of performing them, from centering to reflection.
The daily schedule is rigorous and full, six days a week. Each day includes two yoga sessions, one Hatha in the morning and one Ashtanga Vinyasa in the afternoon. Between these, you'll have classes on yoga philosophy, anatomy, and physiology, all taught in a practical, understandable way. You'll also learn pranayama techniques, mudras, bandhas, and cleansing practices like jala neti. Evenings are dedicated to meditation and yoga nidra, helping you integrate the day's learning.
What sets this training apart is the depth of the teaching. The instructors, including an Ayurvedic doctor, bring a blend of ancient tradition and modern medical science. Yogacharya Sandeep Pandey studied the Yajurveda and mastered 16 Samskaras at a Gurukul from age eight, and later studied under H.H. Swami Veda Bharati. Subhash Petwal trained in Mysore and Kaivalyadhama Lonavala. They're not just teachers; they're dedicated practitioners who live yoga.
The location is ideal for a yoga training. Rishikesh is known as the yoga capital of the world, and the school is nestled in a peaceful area, just a few minutes' walk from the Laxman Jhula market and a 15-20 minute walk from the Ganges river bank. The sacred atmosphere of the town, with its temples and ashrams, supports your practice. During the rest day, the school organizes a half-day excursion to explore local attractions, giving you a taste of the culture.
Graduates leave with a Yoga Alliance certification, recognized worldwide, and the confidence to teach. The small group size, typically between 3 and 20 participants, ensures personalized attention and a supportive learning environment. This isn't just a certification course; it's a cultural immersion and a chance to reset your life.
