Home › Retreats › 23-Day Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Phuket, Thailand
Thailand · 23 days · From USD 2288
The course is built on the Ashtanga Primary Series, using it as the foundation to understand alignment, breath, and the energetic side of each pose. From there, you move into Vinyasa and Rocket Yoga, which gives you creative freedom in sequencing. By day 10, you're ready to start learning Mysore-style self-practice, where the teacher works one-on-one with you, giving personalized adjustments and feedback to deepen your own body awareness.
Theoretical modules cover anatomy, yoga philosophy, the history of Indian yogic culture, and sequencing. There are also practical workshops on the art of adjustments, key pose alignments, using props, and the business side of yoga—marketing, pricing, and time management. You'll start teaching from day one, which sounds intimidating but is exactly how you build confidence. By the end, you'll be able to teach a modified Ashtanga Vinyasa class suitable for all levels and offer modifications for students with injuries or limitations.
The shala itself is a traditional open-air structure with a thatched roof, right on the beach. You can hear the ocean during practice and jump into the sea as soon as class ends. The setting is relatively remote, which helps the group bond—students consistently mention the warmth and support of the cohort, and many stay in touch long after the course.
The teaching team is international and changes slightly per intake, but you'll work with several experienced instructors. Michelle brings over 20 years in performing arts and fitness, and has been teaching with All Yoga since 2017. Wendy is the lead trainer for Yoga Seeds in Singapore, with E-RYT 500 certification and deep training in philosophy and Yin Yoga. Dr. Ganesh (Rao) is a scholar who has conducted over 13,500 sessions of yoga education. Seline has taught at 15+ teacher trainings across Bali, Thailand, and Australia, specializing in handstands and strength. Sam, an E-RYT 500, blends intelligent sequencing with a playful style and has mentored under Richard Freeman and Patrick Beach. You'll also have guests and specialists, bringing in different approaches and keeping the training fresh.
