Home › Retreats › 24-Day 200-Hour Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training in Pokhara, Nepal
Nepal · 24 days · From USD 1465
The course runs from 5:30 AM to 7 PM most days, with study blocks broken up by meals and rest. Mornings begin with mantra, pranayama, and shatkarma (cleansing practices) before a two-hour asana session. After breakfast, you'll have a steam or mud bath, then lunch and rest. Afternoons cover mudras, alignment, anatomy, and tea, followed by meditation and an early dinner with silence observed after. This structure follows the traditional Gurukul style, where students live and learn together as a family under one roof. The curriculum spans asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, meditation, shatkarma, mantra, basic Ayurveda, philosophy, anatomy and physiology, alignment and adjustment, teaching methodology, and yoga therapy. You'll practice Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin styles. Master Hemu Masant leads the training, joined by other Yoga Alliance-certified teachers. Reviews highlight his ability to explain the eight limbs of yoga clearly and his knack for fixing specific issues like neck and shoulder pain. The school itself is a peaceful property with a yoga shala, garden, sauna, and terrace, yet it's close enough to Pokhara town for day trips to the lakeside. The small group size—between 2 and 10 participants—means you get personal attention and close feedback on your teaching practice. Certifications are registered with Yoga Alliance USA, so you can teach anywhere afterward. The location itself is part of the teaching: waking to birdsong, hiking forest trails, and living slowly in a place where yogic tradition feels natural rather than imported.
