24-Day 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 24 days · From EUR 786

A typical day starts early with asana practice, usually Hatha in the morning and Ashtanga later or on alternate days, depending on the schedule your lead sets. After that there's pranayama and meditation, then a break for meals. Afternoons are for philosophy, anatomy and Ayurveda sessions, and there's usually another asana or teaching-practice block before dinner. The exact timetable shifts over the 24 days as you move from learning poses to learning how to teach them.

What sets this apart from shorter trainings is the length and the setting. Twenty-four days is long enough to actually build a home practice and get comfortable in front of a class, and doing it in Rishikesh means you're surrounded by other people doing the same thing. The excursions to mountain temples and the Ganga Aarti aren't add-ons — they're part of the cultural side of the course, and they give you a break from the classroom.

The lead facilitator is Kamal Negi, who is based in India and runs the training. The wider facilitator team is confirmed before your stay, so if you want to know exactly who's teaching which module, that's worth asking about when you book. The course is multi-style, so you'll get a grounding in more than one approach rather than a single lineage.

Room options are arranged per booking. There's a shared room option and a private room option, both at the same location in Rishikesh Yoga Valley. Meals are tailored to the group, including dietary needs — you tell them what you need and they confirm. Because the course runs year-round, you can pick dates that suit you rather than fitting into a fixed departure.

If you're planning to teach, this gives you the hours and the certificate. If you're not, it still works as a month of structured practice with people who are taking it seriously. Either way, you're signing up for early mornings, a lot of time on the mat, and a schedule that doesn't leave much room for lying around.
