Rishikesh · 24 days · From USD 1035
Rishikul Yogshala runs its 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training as a full residential immersion. Each day follows a set rhythm: Ashtanga practice first thing in the morning, pranayama after breakfast, philosophy and alignment sessions before lunch, then Hatha in the late afternoon and meditation or Yoga Nidra as the day winds down. The schedule is demanding, but it's built so that the physical practice, the theory, and the rest periods all feed into each other.
What makes this training different from a lot of others is the weight given to the traditional side of yoga. Philosophy isn't taught as abstract theory—it's tied to how you live your day, from how you eat to how you speak to the people around you. The anatomy and alignment sessions are practical and grounded; you'll learn how to adjust students safely and how to see misalignments before they become injuries.
The school is headquartered in Rishikesh, with centers across India and neighboring countries, and since gaining its Yoga Alliance USA certification in 2013, it has built a strong reputation. Reviews from past students consistently mention the warm, supportive atmosphere and the depth of the teaching. The weekend day off is a chance to explore further afield—camping in the hills, cycling along the Ganges, or hiking to viewpoints above the valley.
You'll be sharing the experience with a group of up to 20 people, and one of the real highlights is the people you meet. Almost everyone arrives as a solo traveler, and the shared intensity of the course tends to bond people quickly. By the end of the 24 days, you'll have not only a certification but also a network of fellow practitioners who've been through the same grind and growth.
