Rishikesh · 25 days · From USD 603
The training unfolds over 25 days in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world. Each day starts with morning sadhana, followed by asana classes that focus on alignment and adjustment. You'll study traditional Hatha Yoga and get into the subtleties of pranayama, mudras, and bandhas. Afternoons bring Ayurveda lectures with Dr. Prateek, who breaks down complex concepts like the doshas and prakriti in a way that's easy to grasp. Yoga philosophy sessions with Gurudev Dhruvaji cover everything from the chakras to Kundalini, and he's known for making difficult ideas simple.
What makes this course different is the dual focus. Most teacher trainings in Rishikesh stick to asana and philosophy. Here, you get a full Ayurveda curriculum alongside your yoga studies. By the end, you understand how to tailor your teaching to different body types and use Ayurvedic principles to design sequences that support health. You'll also learn mantra chanting, sound healing, and even get a chance to play instruments if you want.
The school itself is spread across a few buildings in a quiet neighborhood. There's a garden and an artistic cafe where you can relax between classes. The teaching staff includes over ten instructors, each with their own specialty. Naveen focuses on Ashtanga and alignment, Akshay teaches pranayama and meditation, and Aishwarya brings in yin and prenatal yoga. With a max group size of twenty, you'll get to know your teachers well.
Weekend excursions and rituals break up the course. You'll join a full moon or new moon ritual, go on a group day trip, and have evenings of kirtan. The school organizes everything, so you just show up and learn. At the end, there are practical and theoretical exams, and upon passing, you're certified to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT. Graduates often say the food and the people are the best parts—the satvic meals are hearty, and the community of students from all over the world becomes a second family.
