Home › Retreats › 25-Day Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Agonda, Goa
India · 25 days · From USD 1206
The training is intensive and covers all the bases. Days start early with asana practice, then move into pranayama, meditation, and kriyas. Afternoons are split between alignment and adjustment workshops, teaching methodology, and yoga philosophy drawn from the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and other classical texts. Evenings are for mantra chanting, yoga nidra, and occasional movie or kirtan nights. The curriculum is certified by Yoga Alliance USA, and you'll be registered as an RYT-200 upon completion.
What sets this training apart is the depth of the philosophy and the personal attention. Dr. Keshava, who has taught over 100 teacher trainings, handles the philosophy and Sanskrit sessions, bringing a monastic depth to the course. Yogi Chetan leads the Hatha and Ashtanga asana classes with five years of teaching under his belt. The teaching staff genuinely cares about each student—reviews mention how approachable and knowledgeable they are.
The location is a big part of the experience. Agonda is a small village north of Palolem, with a long crescent of white sand and a handful of simple restaurants and shacks. The school is set in a peaceful area with a garden and yoga shala, and it's a short stroll to the beach. Sundays are a day off, so you can explore the coast, visit a spice plantation, or take a dolphin-watching boat trip.
Meals are vegetarian and sattvic, prepared fresh three times a day from local produce, with a weekly picnic in the jungle or mountains included. The food is simple, tasty, and designed to support your practice without weighing you down. The school also arranges group excursions, a movie night, and a bonfire where you can deepen bonds with your fellow trainees.
By the end of the 25 days, you'll have a thorough grounding in classical yoga, practical teaching skills, and probably some lifelong friends. It's an intense month (there are few hours of downtime each day), but the structure and support mean you come out the other side ready to teach and with a personal practice that's noticeably deeper.
