25-Day Himalayan Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 25 days · From USD 850

The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is a full immersion program spread across four weeks, and it's structured to build week by week. The first week is all about foundations: you'll be introduced to the history of yoga and dive into the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the eight limbs. From there, anatomy and physiology of asana and the basics of pranayama and meditation get introduced. By week two you're learning how to teach, starting with sequencing and class planning, how to use props, and how to adjust for different body types. The third week takes things deeper into advanced asana and pranayama techniques, plus yoga nidra and Sanskrit chanting. The final week is about pulling it all together for your practicum and graduation.

Each day follows a consistent rhythm. You'll wake early for a session that combines meditation, pranayama, and asana before breakfast. Later in the morning, there's a lecture on philosophy or teaching technique. Afternoons include guided practice and workshops, with time set aside for self-study. Evenings are for kirtan, movie nights, or simply rest. This structure means you're not just learning in the abstract; you're living the practice you'll later teach, which is exactly what makes it more than just a course.

What makes this particular training stand out is its balance of authenticity and organization. The location itself is a big part of it. Rishikesh is not a place you stumble into; it's a destination for seeker for a reason. The town is dotted with ashrams and temples, and the river provides a constant backdrop of calm. The small class sizes mean your instructors know your practice, and the community that builds over the month is a major part of what people remember.

You'll be guided by Yogi Ranjan, who brings over 10 years of teaching and a road-tested understanding of yoga's traditional roots, having studied in the Himalayas and with the Isha Foundation. He's known for his direct, grounded approach and a deep commitment to passing on what he's learned about both the physical and spiritual sides of yoga.
