25-Day Kundalini & Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 25 days · From USD 603

The 200-hour Kundalini & Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Sri Yoga Ashram is a four-week course designed for those who want to learn yoga in its traditional form, not just the physical postures. The curriculum is heavy on pranayama, kriya, mudra, bandha, and meditation, with a strong emphasis on the chakra system and Kundalini energy. You’ll learn both Hatha alignment and the more energetic Kundalini approach, so you come away with a broad toolkit for teaching.

The schedule runs Monday to Friday with six classes a day, plus karma yoga (selfless service) and self-study time. Mornings focus on asana, pranayama, and cleansing practices; afternoons cover philosophy, anatomy, teaching practice, and meditation. Saturdays are free after lunch, and Sundays are for sightseeing—visiting local temples, the Ganga ghats, and other Rishikesh highlights. You’ll also have the option to add on short courses in Vedic astrology, palmistry, Ayurveda, Reiki, or a deeper Yoga Nidra study (at extra cost, run during self-study time).

What makes this training stand out is the setting and the teaching. The ashram is a working spiritual community: the teachers live on site, eat with the students, and are available for questions outside class hours. The location is especially peaceful—just 200 meters from the Ganga, surrounded by mountains on three sides, with a small stream running by. The yoga hall has a view of the river, and you’ll often hear the water while you practice.

Instructors include Dr. Gaurav Agrawal, a clinical psychologist and philosophy teacher; Yogi Arpit, trained at the Bihar School of Yoga; Kalpendra, a pranayama and meditation expert; Ankur, a 500-hour RYT meditation teacher; and Pradeep, who specializes in anatomy. The group is kept small—usually between 1 and 10 participants—so you get personal attention and can really connect with your teachers.

You’ll leave with a 200-hour certification recognized by Yoga Alliance USA, which means you can teach anywhere in the world. More importantly, you’ll likely leave with a more disciplined practice, a clearer understanding of yoga philosophy, and a community of like-minded people who became friends over the month.
