Home › Retreats › 28-Day Balinese Wellness Immersion: Yoga, Culture & Beach Relaxation
Indonesia · 28 days · From USD 1949
For 28 days you live at Green Point Retreats, a Bali wellness property run in cooperation with the local ashram Perguruan Seruling Dewata. The place sits inland from Pasut beach, surrounded by rice fields and tropical gardens. It's deliberately basic and calm — no beach clubs or rowdy bars nearby, just the sound of birds and the rhythm of the rice farming village around you.
The yoga taught here is Balinese Watukaru Yoga, a tradition that started on the slopes of Mount Batukaru. Unlike a typical fitness-oriented vinyasa class, this practice blends movement with meditation, chanting, and breathwork. Classes happen most mornings at 10:00, run by local instructors, and last about 90 minutes. There are also occasional Tai Chi or Qigong sessions in the afternoons, and evenings sometimes close with sound healing or quiet meditation under the stars.
Food is a big part of the experience. All meals are vegetarian or vegan, cooked fresh each day from locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen team describes the food as 'medicinal nourishment' — but in practice that just means clean, simple Balinese home cooking rather than anything fancy. If you're interested, you can join one of the juice detox or fasting programs the center runs. There's a 20:4 intermittent fasting option for first-timers and a full juice detox for people with more experience. All of this is optional; plenty of guests just eat the regular meals the whole month.
The retreat also doubles as a cultural immersion. Afternoons rotate through activities like a Balinese Hindu offering (Canang Sari) workshop, a traditional cooking class, a painting or Bahasa Indonesia language class, a pastry-making session, or a bicycle ride through the villages. There are also excursions to the beach and to a waterfall. Every other day you get a complimentary 60-minute Balinese massage, which is included in the price.
You're hosted by a small local team. The retreat is managed by Green Point Retreats staff, with the support of the Putu and other local guides. The booking host is Putu, who's been running retreats here for years and has hosted hundreds of guests from all over the world. The vibe is family-like — guests comment mostly on how at ease the staff make them feel. It's not a luxury resort, but it's clean, comfortable, and genuinely restful.
