Home › Retreats › 29-Day 500-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Kathmandu, Nepal
Kathmandu · 29 days · From USD 2000
The course runs for 29 days in Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal. Days typically start early with pranayama and meditation, followed by an asana session, then theory classes on philosophy, anatomy and teaching methodology. Afternoons usually hold another practical session and study time, with the evening left for self-practice or rest. The exact timetable is confirmed by the retreat leader before you arrive.
What separates this from a standard 200-hour training is the depth. Over the month you cover advanced postures, the mechanics of breath, meditation techniques and the classical texts that underpin yoga. The course is designed so that you leave able to teach at an advanced level, not just hold a certificate.
The training is led by Adi Yogpeeth, a school based in India that also runs a 300-hour Hatha, Ashtanga and Kundalini training in Nepal, a 100-hour Kundalini teacher training in Rishikesh, and an 8-day yoga and meditation retreat near Kathmandu. The facilitator team for each intake is confirmed before the course starts.
Kathmandu itself is a working city with temples, stupas and old neighbourhoods, and the surrounding valley has mountain views on clear days. It is not a beach resort or a quiet ashram in the forest, but the city's religious and cultural life gives the training a context that a studio at home cannot.
