3-Day Ayurveda and Yoga Reset in the Herefordshire Countryside

3-Day Ayurveda and Yoga Reset in the Herefordshire Countryside

United Kingdom · 3 days · From EUR 354

The retreat runs for three days and two nights at Plantation Villa at Ruxton Farm, just outside Hereford in the UK. The farm is a working smallholding with gardens and animals; guests stay in rooms in the main house or converted farm buildings, and the teaching spaces are on-site. It's rural and quiet — the nearest town is Hereford, about 15 minutes by car.

The daily structure is consistent. Mornings start with yoga and pranayama, usually around 90 minutes, followed by an organic breakfast. Late morning is given over to an Ayurvedic consultation or an educational workshop. After lunch there's free time — people walk the farm, read, or nap — before a second yoga session and guided meditation in the late afternoon. Dinner is organic and constitution-appropriate, and most evenings wind down early.

The Ayurvedic consultations are one-to-one with the practitioner. You'll be asked about sleep, digestion, stress and general health, and told which dosha is dominant and what that means for your diet and routine. The recommendations are practical: which foods to favour, which to cut back on, what time to eat, how to breathe when you're wound up.

The workshops are more general. Topics covered on past retreats include stress management, digestive health and relationships, all explained in plain terms rather than Sanskrit. The cooking classes are hands-on: you'll make a simple Ayurvedic dish, usually a kitchari or a vegetable preparation, and leave with the recipe.

An Ayurvedic massage is included. It's a warm-oil treatment, typically 60 minutes, and is booked into your schedule at some point during the stay. Rest time is also built into the programme — there are blocks in the afternoon with nothing timetabled, which is unusual for a three-day retreat and is one of the things guests comment on.

Accommodation is confirmed per booking. Rooms range from a private room with private bathroom to a shared quad or triple. All are on the farm; the property has a shared dining area, a yoga space and gardens. Bedding and towels are provided. Food is all organic and tailored to your constitution after your consultation. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets can be catered for — you just need to tell the team in advance.

The retreat is run by the team at Plantation Villa at Ruxton Farm. The facilitators for each date are confirmed before your stay. This is the same team behind the 5-Day Weight Loss Kick Start with Ayurveda at the same farm. The focus here is on teaching you the basics of Ayurveda and giving you a routine you can keep up at home, rather than a detox or a fitness programme.
