Rishikesh · 3 days · From USD 129
You arrive at Divine Yogpeeth's base in Tapovan, the quiet neighbourhood above Rishikesh's main town, and check in around 1pm. The first afternoon has a light yoga session — the kind meant to loosen you up after travel rather than challenge you. That evening there's a group meditation to settle in.
Day two is the main practice day. Morning starts with a full yoga class, then pranayama (breathing exercises), then guided meditation. The rest of the day is deliberately empty: you can journal, walk into Rishikesh proper for chai, visit the famous suspension bridges over the Ganges, or just read on the terrace. Some guests book an optional sound healing session with Vinay — he uses Tibetan bowls and it's the thing reviewers mention most often.
Day three wraps up with one more morning session, breakfast together, and checkout by 10am. It's not a packed schedule, and that's the point. The idea is a reset, not a bootcamp.
The location is about 45 minutes from Dehradun's small airport (Jolly Grant). Rishikesh itself is a pilgrimage town — you'll see ashrams, temples, sadhus, and a lot of other yoga tourists. The school sits close enough to walk to cafes and shops but far enough from the main drag to feel quiet. The Ganges flows past below, and the Himalayan foothills rise behind.
This works best for beginners or people who've lapsed from a yoga practice and want a low-pressure way back in. The group size is usually 10–20 students, and many come solo. Age range skews 20s to 40s, though the school says anyone in reasonable health is welcome.
