The owners, sisters Raneem and Naseem, moved from Toronto and Toronto's corporate world—Raneem from LinkedIn, Naseem from a spa business—to create a retreat that's about genuine rest rather than packed schedules. There's no forced itinerary; you can do as much or as little as you want, and the staff help arrange activities if you want them, like private snorkeling tours with local captains or the signature chocolate massage that was featured by National Geographic. The island itself has a small village a short walk down the hill, with local restaurants, smoothie spots, and fishermen coming in with the day's catch. Because the island is car-free and power goes off each morning from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., you're naturally pulled into a slower rhythm—mornings become about yoga, ocean swims, or just sitting with a book. While meals aren't included in the base rate, you can either walk to the village or opt into meal packages at the on-site restaurant, which serves fresh, island-to-plate food.
