30-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Retreat in Ubud

The training is built around the idea that Yin Yoga is as much about the energetic body as it is about the physical one. Each day follows a similar rhythm: a grounding morning practice, a long afternoon session where you work through the theory and practical teaching skills, and a Yin class in the evening to integrate what you’ve learned. The curriculum covers the foundations of Yin Yoga, the meridian network and how Qi moves through the body, and how the Five Elements relate to emotional and physical health.

What makes this different from a general yoga retreat is the teaching component. You won’t just be doing yoga; you’ll be learning how to teach it. There are posture breakdowns, group discussions, and chances to practice teaching with feedback from the group. The emphasis on holding space, creating a safe environment, and guiding students into meditative states is woven throughout, so you leave with practical skills you can use right away.

The venue, Villa Yoga Shala, is a beautiful open-air space with a wooden yoga shala, lush gardens, and a pool. The property is private and quiet, but you’re never far from the energy of Ubud. You can walk to cafes, markets, and temples during your free time. It’s a place that supports both focused study and real relaxation.

Your host is Joy, a yoga teacher with seven years of practice and devotion to Ashtanga vinyasa flow. She’s studied and practiced across Asia, and her teaching is grounded in the traditions of Krishnamacharya, Iyengar, and Ashtanga. She brings a warm, inclusive approach to the group, which you can feel in the way she guides the practices and shares her knowledge.
