30+ Surf & Yoga Glamping Week on the French Atlantic Coast

30+ Surf & Yoga Glamping Week on the French Atlantic Coast

France · 8 days · From EUR 450

Mornings start with breakfast at the camp, then you head over the dunes to the beach for the first surf lesson of the day. Lessons run in groups of up to eight people with certified instructors, and they are split by ability, so total beginners work on popping up in the white water while more experienced surfers get coached on turning and reading the waves. Boards and wetsuits are provided for the whole week, so you do not need to bring or rent anything.

After lunch there is a stretch of free time — this is when people skate the ramp, slackline, jump on the trampoline, swim, or walk into the village. Five yoga sessions are scheduled across the week, usually late afternoon, and they are aimed at loosening up shoulders and backs that have spent the day paddling. The second surf session or the day's alternative activity fills the late afternoon before dinner.

The camp itself sits right behind the dunes at Le Pin Sec, on a stretch of Atlantic coast with long sandy beaches and consistent waves. Bordeaux is about an hour and a half away, and the surrounding area is pine forest and small beach towns. The team is on site 24/7 through the week. Evenings are open: sunset on the beach, drinks at the camp, cocktails at the bar in the dunes, or the weekly bunker party if you want it.

What separates this from a standard surf camp is the age policy. Everyone in the camp is 30 or over, which changes the pace — there is no pressure to be out until 4am, and the free afternoons are genuinely used for resting, reading or a second swim rather than being a write-off. The other difference is the setup: wooden-floored glamping tents rather than dorms, full board rather than self-catering, and lessons capped at eight per instructor.

Instructors are certified surf coaches who work this stretch of coast through the season. They assess the group on day one and split sessions by level, and they will push you at whatever stage you are at — first stand-up, first green wave, or working on sharper turns. Yoga is taught separately by the camp's yoga instructor, and the classes are suitable for people who have never done it before.
