Rishikesh · 27 days · From USD 1276
The 300-hour training at Rishikul Yogshala is an advanced residential programme that treats yoga as something you live, not just something you do on the mat. It was developed in Rishikesh specifically for people who have already completed a 200-hour teacher training and want to go further. The curriculum covers advanced asana, sequencing, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology, and it's taught by a team that includes Bipin Baloni, Yogi Prashant Ji, and Deepa Ji—teachers who are well known in the Rishikesh yoga circuit. The school itself has been running teacher trainings since 2010 and holds accreditation from both Yoga Alliance International and Yoga Alliance USA.
What makes this course different from a shorter retreat is the depth of integration. You're not just learning poses and cues; you're learning how to embody yoga in a way that stays with you when you leave. The schedule is built so that physical practice, philosophical study, and teaching skills reinforce each other. A morning Hatha class might be followed by a philosophy lecture that reframes how you understand that same sequence. An afternoon alignment session teaches you how to adjust students safely, and you get to practise those adjustments on your classmates.
Location plays a big part in the experience. Rishikul Yogshala sits in Jonk, a quiet village in the Swargashram area of Rishikesh, a short walk from the Ram Jhula pedestrian bridge and the ghats where people gather for evening aarti. The sound of the river and the mountains create a natural buffer from the noise of everyday life. It's not a luxury resort—the rooms are simple and functional—but that simplicity is part of the point. With fewer distractions, the practice gets more of your attention.
The training is residential, which means you're living alongside the other students and teachers for the full 27 days. Meals are eaten together, and there's a strong sense of community that develops over the month. Past participants frequently mention the friendships they made and the supportive atmosphere. The school also accommodates different dietary needs and offers an Ayurvedic consultation as part of the package, which gives you a chance to understand your constitution and how to eat and practise in a way that supports it.
