300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training & Wellness Immersion in the Himalayas

Rishikesh · 28 days · From USD 862

The 300-hour course at Rishikesh Yog Nirvana is built around Ashtanga (Intermediate series) and Vinyasa flow, with a strong thread of classical yogic sciences running through everything. Each day starts early—typically with pranayama and meditation before the sun gets high—then moves into asana practice, philosophy, anatomy, and alignment lectures. The curriculum is unusually comprehensive for a TTC: six types of Shatkarma (body cleansing), six meditation techniques, six pranayama variations tied to the chakras, mantra chanting with instruments, and detailed study of asana alignment, variations, and adjustments. You'll also study the stories behind the postures and their Sanskrit names, which most courses barely touch.

What sets this training apart is the range of special classes folded into the month. There's a dedicated sound healing session, a workshop on women's cycles and how yoga intersects with them, a full body massage, and even a Bollywood dance class—so it's not only about getting your alignment spot on. Saturdays sometimes include special detoxifying cleansing practices like neti or kunjal, which are traditional kriyas you rarely get to learn under supervision outside India. The school also brings in top-notch guest speakers, so the teaching isn't just from the permanent staff.

The teaching team is young but deeply credentialed. Yogi Rajesh teaches Vinyasa flow and holds a master's in Yoga along with an E-RYT 500; the school's owner, Sajan, leads meditation and philosophy and studied in the Himalayan tradition; there's a dedicated Ashtanga teacher known for his alignment knowledge; a Hatha specialist who's taught workshops overseas; and Yogini Priyanka, the youngest on staff, who leads Ashtanga with impressive skill. Their teaching styles complement each other well, so you get exposure to several lineages over the month rather than one person's isolated take on the practice.

Rishikesh itself is part of the experience. The school is in a lively neighborhood close to the Laxman Jhula bridge and the Ganges, surrounded by ashrams, cafés, and other yoga schools. On your Sundays off you can hike up to the waterfalls at Neer Garh, attend the evening Ganga Aarti by the river, or just take a walk across the suspension bridge and watch the pilgrims. It's a setting that makes it easy to actually live the yogic lifestyle you're studying—vegetarian food everywhere, daily temple bells, and the constant presence of the holy river just below the town.
