India · 30 days · From USD 1120
The 300-hour course at Om Yoga Shala is designed for students who have already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training. It goes deep into the primary and intermediate series of Ashtanga Vinyasa, taught with Sanskrit counting and hands-on adjustments. Mornings start with a led practice, followed by a pranayama and silence session called Antar Mauna. After breakfast, you study yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology, with a strong focus on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Advaita Vedanta, and the Bhagavad Gita. Afternoons include workshops on alignment, mantra chanting, and teaching practice, and evenings close with Ashtanga Vinyasa asana practice. Saturdays are shorter, with two classes, and Sundays are free for rest and exploration. The course is taught by Sanjeev Dutta, an engineer turned yogi with over 17 years of practice, and Shivani, an experienced Ashtanga teacher who covers anatomy and philosophy. The shala itself is a peaceful, natural space with three dogs and two white cats who often join the practice. The schedule is intense but balanced, and the teachers emphasize self-awareness and safety over forcing poses.
