300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 29 days · From USD 1112

This 300-hour yoga teacher training is for practitioners who already have a foundation and want to go deeper, both in their physical practice and in their understanding of where yoga comes from. Over 29 days in Rishikesh, you'll build the skills to teach as well as to practise, moving through a full daily schedule of asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and anatomy. There's no specific fitness prerequisite stated, but you'll want an existing practice and the willingness to commit to a busy daily rhythm. If you're carrying any injuries or health concerns, it's worth raising them with the organisers before you book.

The training blends the physical side of yoga with its deeper philosophical and energetic roots. Daily asana classes mix Hatha, Vinyasa and Kundalini styles, sitting alongside pranayama and meditation sessions that build a strong foundation for your own practice and your teaching. You'll study yoga philosophy with teachers who have read the classical texts, and learn practical anatomy from a holistic viewpoint. A course manual and your certification are both included, so you have what you need to study and to carry your qualification forward.

You'll be based at the modern Samadhi Yoga Ashram, which pairs traditional Gurukul simplicity with comfortable amenities. Rooms range from budget-friendly shared 4-bed and 6-bed dorms through to a twin shared room with an attached bathroom and a private ensuite room with a single bed and ample space; all have clean linens and storage, and air conditioning is available at an extra charge. The ashram has a terrace, a yoga shala and free WiFi in the common areas. Set among the Himalayan foothills close to the Ganga, it's a peaceful spot away from daily distractions, where you'll wake to birdsong, practise on the open-air deck and eat on the terrace with views over the river valley.

A typical weekday starts early, with pranayama and meditation at 06:00 followed by Hatha or Vinyasa practice, then breakfast. Mornings bring a philosophy or anatomy lecture, lunch at midday, and an afternoon session on teaching methodology or a workshop covering adjustments, sequencing and more. The day winds down with restorative yoga or Yoga Nidra before dinner. One excursion runs each week: a full-day Himalayan hiking trip on Saturdays, and on Sundays a visit to local temples, the Ganga Aarti ceremony and the Rishikesh markets. The final days move into practice teaching and a written exam, then a graduation ceremony and celebration.

The programme runs for 29 nights at 1112 USD. Included are airport pickup from Dehradun Airport, three daily vegetarian meals, water and tea throughout the day, all your props (mats, blocks, straps and bolsters), accommodation, the course and certification, your manual, group excursions and Wi-Fi. The food is 100% vegetarian, freshly prepared and served three times a day, drawing on traditional Indian recipes with sattvic dishes such as dal, rice, vegetables and chapatis; dairy-free, gluten-free and other dietary requirements can be catered for if you let the kitchen know in advance. Not included are travel insurance, flight costs, the visa fee, additional treatments and any activities outside the itinerary.
