300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Rishikesh

300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Rishikesh

Rishikesh · 30 days · From USD 1500

The core of this training is its commitment to traditional yogic discipline. Each day follows a rhythm that moves from cleansing practices to pranayama and meditation, then into Ashtanga and Vinyasa in the morning. After breakfast, you'll study anatomy and learn how to adjust and align students safely. Post-lunch, the focus shifts to philosophy and ethics, followed by a Hatha Yoga asana session. Evenings wind down with meditation and an early lights-out, so you're rested for the next day.

What makes this different from a fitness-focused yoga retreat is the depth of the philosophy and the small-group teaching. You'll have real opportunities to practice teaching, with more chances to lead classes than you might in a 200-hour course. The teachers are described as knowledgeable and kind, and the small group size (typically 3-20 participants) means conversations with them go deep.

The location is a major part of the experience. Adhiroha is in the mountains, close to a waterfall and away from the noise of central Rishikesh. The grounds are thoughtfully laid out, with a yoga shala, meditation cave, and dining space all built to feel intentional. The ashram is close enough to explore the local market or temples on your days off, but far enough that practice feels undisturbed.

Led by Shankar Das, founder and senior teacher, the training blends classical yogic wisdom with practical anatomical knowledge. He's been teaching for years and specializes in Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation. The program is registered with Yoga Alliance, so you'll be able to register your certification upon completion.

The food is simple, sattvic vegetarian, served three times a day. Meals are freshly cooked and designed to support the physical demands of daily practice. The communal dining space adds to the sense of shared purpose, and the 24/7 staff presence means help is never far away. Reviews consistently mention the cleanliness of the rooms and the warmth of the team, particularly Kapil, who keeps everything impeccable.
