New South Wales · 5 days · From USD 1763
Each day at Vitality Rising follows a rhythm that mixes structured sessions with open time. Mornings typically start with a guided practice — alternating between Hatha flow, Yin Yoga, Qi Gong and breathwork — followed by a leisurely breakfast with the group. Later sessions might focus on meditation, embodied self-inquiry or more breathwork, and afternoons are largely left open for integration. That means swimming, a massage in the treatment room, sitting in the sauna, or simply resting in your room with the doors open to the garden.
The breathwork sits at the centre of the experience. Mark's approach, which he calls Expansion Breathwork, is a guided, conscious connected-breathing practice held in a safe and supportive space. Some sessions go deep — guests have described working through stored grief and anger during the practice — while others are gentler and more restorative. Em's Yin Yoga and Qi Gong balance things out with slow, floor-based poses that target fascia and the body's energy lines, drawn from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist principles.
The property itself is a big part of why this retreat works. BlueGreen Sanctuary is private, set among paddocks and plantations with no passing traffic, yet it's close enough to the region's cafes and markets that you're not isolated. The yoga shala sits separately from the main villa, with views over the gardens. There's an infrared sauna, an ice bath, and a traditional tipi on the grounds. Meals are taken together, sitting around the table, and the food is fresh, seasonal and generous.
For many guests, the combination of the spacious program and the small group is what makes the difference. You have time between practices to actually absorb what's come up, and the conversations that happen over breakfast or by the pool often become as valuable as the sessions. By the end of the five days, most people leave with more than a holiday tan — they're carrying a clearer sense of their own patterns and the tools to work with them at home.
